Description - introduction:
Kamienna Góra, the smallest district of Gdynia, is a fascinating architectural complex where we can observe stylistic changes that took place over less than twenty years. Originally designed by its creators as a green-lined estate of romantic cottages referencing Polish suburban architecture traditions, it gradually transformed into an urban district filled with tenements and office buildings alongside villas. Its stylistic appearance also changed; by the late 1920s, modernism had taken hold. The projects here were realized by some of the most outstanding Gdynia architects: Włodzimierz Prochaska, Tadeusz Jędrzejewski, Zbigniew Kupiec, and Leon Mazalon.
