Join us for a special edition of a tour inside "BANKOWIEC" - the jewel of Gdynia's modernism - where we will reach the spots, nooks and crannies previously available to conservators and building managers only. The guide and narrator of the tour will be Maria Piradoff-Link, the curator of the Mini Museum, the researcher of the history of details and technical equipment of the BANKOWEC complex. In addition to the most valuable details and preserved elements of the apartment furnishings and equipment, we will also reach the technical rooms with a preserved mechanical ventilation system of the garage, the room of the pre-war laundry room with a mangle, a sink, and tables, and we will also have a look at the unique structure of the gazebo from the upper floors. While visiting some of the staircases, we will learn about the aesthetic and colour nuances of the design of the terrazzo – preserved in excellent condition. The in situ story will be combined with the presentation of the reprints of pre-war catalogues of interior design elements, collected over the years by Maria Piradoff-Link.

Join us for the fourth edition of the Gdynia Modernism Trail event in the Archi-Detail series. The guides of the December edition of the tour are the local researchers and enthusiasts of old interiors and architectural details Karolina Bednarska and Ryszard Kopittke.
"Apartment houses with a soul – the architecture of detail" is a proposal for the enthusiasts of details found in Gdynia's apartment houses from the interwar period, including the houses built in the spirit of early functionalism. The creators of the route – the enthusiasts of historical interiors, will take us to places inaccessible on a daily basis, but nonetheless inspiring and firing the imagination, sharpening the sense of observation and the sensitivity to the nuances of restoration.
As promised by the creators of the route, the tour will become a multi-layered story, taking us to the times of outstanding craftsmen and builders, such as the masters of carpentry, masonry, plastering and stonework, and of the disappearing art of woodcarving.
