The "Historical Gdynia" Association was founded in 2009. It is an association gathering specialists with achievements in the field of monument protection and popularisation, involved as a social side in the restoration of important modernist objects, including the former Maritime School Complex (currently: Gdynia Maritime University), the former Polish Sailor House (currently: the Navigation Department of Maritime University), the PAGED apartment house, or the building of the District Court. The Association is also the initiator of entering the buildings in Gdynia in the register of monuments, and the organiser of specialist lectures on the values and protection of heritage.
