We know the winners of the "Gdynia's Modernism in the Lens 2024" competition. On 26 August, the opening of the post-competition exhibition took place at the Gdynia Film Centre Gallery. This event is part of the 14th 'Architecture Weekend', and gathered enthusiasts of architecture and photography. They had the opportunity to admire the best works submitted to this year's edition of the event, and over a thousand of photos have entered the competition.
The aim of this competition was to promote the aesthetic, architectural and historical values of Gdynia, with particular emphasis on the modernist heritage. The participants presented their creative photos in six categories, such as "Human and Architecture", "Form and Light" or "Archi-Icons".
This year's edition attracted an impressive number of participants who submitted as many as 1,093 works. The jury, which included experts from various fields, had a challenging task, yet they distinguished photographs that captured the spirit of modernism in an exceptional way, demonstrating not only creativity, but also a high technique of execution.
- It was a time well-spent. We had a lot of work to do, but we did it with great pleasure. Each of us had our favorites in terms of the photographic work. We convinced each other about their individual values. After heated and long discussions, we reached a consensus – says Przemek Kozłowski, one of the members of the jury.
