The Faculty of Architecture of the Gdańsk University of Technology co-organises a series of international conferences "Modernism in Europe - Modernism in Gdynia". Together with the City of Gdynia, they have been publishers of scientific works – post-conference publications – eight volumes, since 2009.
The Chairperson of the Scientific Council of the conference is Prof. Maria Jolanta Sołtysik Dr. Hab. Eng. Arch., a pioneer of research on Gdynia’s modernism, the author of the most important monographs devoted to the architecture of Gdynia's modernism, a long-term educator and promoter of the phenomenon of Gdynia's modernism in Poland and in the world.
The Faculty of Architecture also initiated the Research Club "M for Modernity", with Dr. Anna Orchowska, Eng. Arch., as the supervisor. The Club organises, i.a., meetings and lectures with the pioneers of modernism. Also workshops are arranged, involving students in revitalising projects of the existing modernist buildings, as well as walks and study tours to other centres of modernism in the world.
